When creating this peice of art I learned about creating a rough surface when sticking together peices of clay. I also learned that you must have a air hole when you fire your clay or it will bubble up. If I were do this again I would have painted the lighter colors before the dark colors since I can always paint over the light with the dark.
While creating this art I developed my art making skills by learning about blending charcoal colors together. I had to do this because the colors of the flower in the original picture don't just stop and start the blend into the next layer. My main source of inspiration was a picture of a hibiscus flower on pintrest. The flower reminded me of a lion mane but I strayed away from this idea when I saw a picture of my friends lizard. This lizard has a large frilled neck is that also resembles a main and I thought the colors of the flower would have better contrast with te dull colors of the lizard. In this peice I learned a lot about mixing colors to create the the right shade of paint. This peice is successful because it accurately reflects the colors of sonic. If I where to do this again I would paint the eyes first so that the white didn't get into the blue. When doing the spray paint stencil I learned that when you are making a stencil from a picture you should cut out the darker parts of the picture .When you do this it will create a nice contrast between whatever background you choose. This peice is successful because it conveys a beach skyline successfully. If I could do it again I would change the colors of spray paint I used for the water and sky. When creating the monster ink drawing I learned that you don't need to know what you are drawing before you start. In this situation I just put ink on a peice of paper and then just created the monster from what I saw in the ink. This peice is successful in that it actually resembles a monster even with just putting ink on a peice of paper.I wouldn't change anything because you can't mess up on this drawing. |
